Greater Milwaukee
The largest market in Wisconsin. Century-old housing plus a deep manufacturing base.
Market notes
Milwaukee is the largest electrician market in Wisconsin and the industrial heart of the state. The city itself is wall-to-wall century-old housing, much of it still carrying knob-and-tube and 60-amp service that needs rewiring and panel upgrades, while the manufacturing base (Harley-Davidson, Rockwell Automation, the breweries) keeps a steady stream of industrial and three-phase work. The Waukesha County suburbs are where the money and the newer work concentrate: Brookfield, New Berlin, and Waukesha itself run affluent residential, generator installs, and a deep industrial-park base.
Two things shape demand around Milwaukee. The winters are brutal, so whole-home generator and service-upgrade searches stay alive most of the year, and with Generac built in the Waukesha area, homeowners here are more generator-aware than almost anywhere in the country. And the housing is old. West Allis, Wauwatosa, Greenfield, and the Milwaukee bungalow belt are full of 1920s to 1950s homes hitting rewire and panel-upgrade age all at once. CPC on emergency-electrician queries in Milwaukee County sits near the top of the Wisconsin range, and organic plus Map Pack work compounds hard in a market this deep.
